FCM’s Board of Directors drives FCM’s mission to advance national issues where the impacts of federal action are felt on the ground in cities and communities of all sizes. We encourage you to learn about the table officer and director candidates who are running to serve you on the Board. The directors you elect will work to make sure that FCM is bringing local solutions to the national level.

Changes to the election cycle

Following an update to the FCM by-laws (article 3.00) in 2024, this year’s elections will complete the transition to staggered two-year terms for board directors. Therefore, when voting this year:

  • The Prairies and Territories and Quebec regions will vote for directors to serve a two-year term, ending in 2028.
  • Newfoundland and Labrador will hold a by‑election to elect one (1) director to complete the remainder of the two‑year term ending in 2027. However, all other Atlantic provinces, British Columbia and Ontario will not be voting for directors in 2026 due to the cycle change.

Note: these changes only apply to directors; table officers will continue to serve one-year terms.

We’ll update this webpage every second Thursday following election launch until the end of April and every Thursday in May, until the final list on June 1. We’ll keep you posted here, via emails and through FCM Voice.
