Mr. Bernard Gaudreau is mayor of Neuville City, a magnificent municipality near Quebec City with a population of more than 4,600 inhabitants. In addition to his duties as mayor, he holds the position of prefect of the Portneuf RCM, whose population is nearly 55,000 inhabitants. With nearly 25 years of experience in municipal politics, he is actively involved in local, regional and national issues.

It was after two terms as municipal counselor that he was elected mayor of Neuville City for a first term in 2009, then again in 2013, 2017 and 2021. In 2015, his colleagues on the RCM council gave him entrusted him with the role of prefect, a position he still holds today for a 5th consecutive term. In this role, Mr. Gaudreau sits on multiple committees and commissions and assumes numerous responsibilities.

Coming from a Neuville family that has been farming in Neuville for near than 40 years, the issues linked to economic development and those linked to the environment are essential for him. His role as chairman of the board of directors of the Régie régionale de la gestion des matières résiduelles de Portneuf (RRGMRP), which he has held since 2013, allows him to have an enlightened view of the possibilities available to citizens served by the RRGMRP, namely those of the RCMs of Portneuf, Jacques-Cartier and Mékinac, in order to participate in the deployment of innovative and progressive initiatives in terms of sustainable development.

A member of the Regional Forum of elected officials of the Capitale-Nationale since 2015, he has sat on the steering committee responsible for the agreement on agricultural and agri-food activities in Quebec and Lévis since 2016. In 2017, his appointment to one of the permanent commissions of the Fédération québécoise des municipalities reinforced his desire to work ardently on the issue of land use planning. In March 2024, recognized for his significant experience and leadership, Mr. Gaudreau was appointed administrator to the board of directors of the Fédération québécoise des municipalities.

Having the dynamism and vitality of our communities at heart, he is also president of the board of directors of the Association des plus beaux villages du Québec since 2018. This association brings together nearly 40 member villages spread in 11 administrative regions of Quebec.

Wishing to get involved on a national scale, Mr. Bernard Gaudreau was elected in June 2022 for the first time to the board of directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and is actively involved in the Quebec caucus.

A law graduate from Laval University and holder of a master's degree in taxation from the University of Sherbrooke, he was admitted to the Order of the Quebec Bar in 2003 and has since practiced as a lawyer specializing in business law and litigation. tax within an international firm.
