Under the direction of the GIS Coordinator, the GIS Technician is responsible for creating maps and materials for presentation and supporting operational requirements of County departments. The main focus of this temporary position is to assist the GIS Team with the development and publication of a GIS data catalog. Tasks will include reviewing datasets to ensure minimum standards are met, documenting metadata, and the update schedules of datasets. Additional daily tasks will include helping end users troubleshoot issues, assisting with data sharing requests, or creating maps. Considerable experience in the operation of heavy-duty equipment (Grader, Packer, Picker Truck, Skid Steer, Single Axle Truck, Tractor, Dozer, Loader, Tandem Truck, and Reclaimer.) Experience in the operation of excavator, rubber tire backhoe would be an asset with a primary focus on the Loader to support all drainage activities. This position primarily supports drainage activities during spring and summer and winter operations during fall and winter.
