FCM awards the Mayor Andrée Boucher Memorial Scholarship annually to two female college or university students deemed to have submitted the best research paper on a topic related to women in politics. The scholarship is named in honour of the late mayor of Quebec City.

Today, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and Status of Women Canada, with partners Equal Voice and the Canadian Women Foundation announced the launch of their latest partnership addressing gender parity in office at the local level: Toward Parity. FCM President Vicki-May Hamm issued the following statement

Working with partners across Canada to remove barriers to women's participation in politics at the local government level.
The scholarship is open to young women / girls enrolled in any year of study in secondary school (also CEGEP in Quebec) and who are contributing to their school's leadership team or student council.
