FCM brings municipal perspective to federal budget consultations (25/10/2016)
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) takes its nation-building priorities to pre-budget consultations at the House of Commons finance committee on Wednesday. FCM 2nd Vice-President Sylvie Goneau will outline how Phase 2 of the federal infrastructure plan can transform Canada-if it unlocks municipalities' expertise in delivering local solutions to national challenges. She will also reiterate FCM's call for a $12.66 billion affordable housing carve-out in the Phase 2 Social Infrastructure Fund.
Key design decisions for Phase 2 transit, social and green infrastructure investment are expected no later than Budget 2017.
