Yolaine Kirlew, Third Vice-President
Yolaine Kirlew was elected to Sioux Lookout Council in 2014, where she has served as member of the Board of Health (Northwestern Health Unit), Co-Chair of the Arts Culture & Heritage Committee, member of the Youth Development Commission and Board Chair of the Anti-Racism Committee. She has also served as Deputy Mayor of Sioux Lookout from 2017-2018. Councillor Kirlew was appointed to FCM's Board of Directors in 2017.
Councillor Kirlew has lived in Sioux Lookout for more than 10 years with her husband Dr. Michael Kirlew. They have three daughters, Naomi, Liana and Neriah and are proud boarding home parents to First Nations youth. She currently works as a conflict resolution practitioner and health mediator and has a professional background as a political policy analyst and academic researcher on issues regarding the Canadian State and First Nations.
Her volunteer experience has spanned over 15 years, with involvement in a range of women's, youth, and faith movements in and around Sioux Lookout region, Ottawa and internationally. She currently volunteers at the Sioux Lookout Anti-Racism Committee and is a Cadet Officer at the Air Cadet League of Canada's 270 Otter Squadron.
In her off-time, Councillor Kirlew is an avid outdoorsperson-kayaker forever!
