CIPP has worked with six community pairings to help these neighbouring municipalities and First Nations to develop joint water service agreements. Together, they delivered water services more effectively to their residents.

The six pairs were selected by FCM following an application process that drew heavy interest from more than 100 communities across Canada. By narrowing the field to a dozen, FCM can work more closely with each pair and improve the chance of successfully concluding agreements.
The strong interest in the application process demonstrates there is a widespread need for technical assistance in forging joint service agreements between neighboring communities.
