  • Development Charges Bylaw (2004) (12/01/2011)

    The City of Brantford Development Charges Bylaw 90-2004 provides a credit against development charges for remediation within the Brownfield Sites Community Improvement Project Area. The development charge payable is reduced by an amount equal to the cost of the remediation required for the proposed use of the lands. 
  • Environmental Remediation and Site Enhancement Community Improvement Project Area Bylaw (2005) (13/04/2009)

    The City of Hamilton Bylaw No. 05-086 designates the Environmental Remediation and Site Enhancement (ERASE) Community Improvement Project Area, pursuant to Section 28(2) of to promote brownfield redevelopment.Ontario’s Planning Act. Properties in the 3,400-acre project area are eligible for municipal programs — including study and redevelopment grants, tax assistance, municipal acquisition and partnership, marketing opportunities, and development charge reduction programs — as part of the ERASE Community Improvement Plan 
  • Dumping, Fill and Site Alteration Bylaw No. 166-07 (2008) (01/10/2008)

    The Town of Richmond Hill Dumping, Fill and Site Alteration Bylaw No. 166-07 regulates the disposal of fill, the removal of topsoil, and the alteration of the grade of land in Richmond Hill.
  • Brownfields Community Improvement Plan (2008) (01/01/2008)

    The City of North Bay Brownfields Community Improvement Plan (CIP) guides the redevelopment of brownfield sites in its downtown and surrounding areas. The CIP offers financial incentives to help private-sector proponents overcome the financial barriers to investing in these sites. The implementation of the city’s Downtown Community Improvement Plan has also supported redevelopment of the downtown core.
  • Fill Bylaw (2007) (15/05/2007)

    The Town of Caledon Fill Bylaw 2007-59 prohibits or regulates the placement and removal of fill, the storage and removal of topsoil, and the alteration of the grade of land on all town properties. This bylaw plays a significant role in the protection of environmentally significant lands, such as wetlands and valleys.
  • Community Improvement Plan, Brownfields Project Areas 1A and 1B (2006) (10/06/2003)

    The City of Kingston Community Improvement Plan facilitates the implementation of the city’s brownfields program and its key financial components. The program provides tax assistance and grants for the rehabilitation of environmentally compromised land and buildings.
  • Soil Deposit Regulation Bylaw (1999) (23/11/1999)

    The District of Maple Ridge Soil Deposit Regulation Bylaw 5763-1999 regulates the placement of fill on all land in the district. Several of the bylaw’s soil deposit requirements are related to protecting water sources and preventing the contamination of wells. Permits are required for all fill placement.
