Community Infrastructure Partnership Project

Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve, Henvey Inlet First Nation and the Municipality of Killarney, ON

About this CIPP project

These communities are experiencing various challenges with solid waste management including the closure of waste sites, lack of access to waste sites, and extending the life of existing sites.  Henvey Inlet First Nation and the Wikwemikong community of Point Grondine are seeking a new location to send their solid waste.  The Township of Killarney has been taking some of their waste but has concerns about the life span of their land fill sites. Together, they are exploring opportunities for collaboration, including reducing the amount of material going to land fill sites.
