Community Infrastructure Partnership Project

Alderville First Nation and the Northumberland County, ON

About this CIPP project

These communities are working together to gain a clearer picture of their current waste management systems and find ways to cut costs and build a stronger relationship. Alderville First Nation would like to help the environment by increasing recycling and creating residential composting opportunities. The County is working on a long term waste management master plan, including plans to offer hazardous waste collection year round. Jointly, the two communities are looking to develop a joint agreement that would help provide education, reduce costs, and ultimately achieve a goal of 75% waste diversion rate.
