Municipal leaders to respond to Budget 2017 (17/03/2017)

Representatives from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), representing more than 90% of Canadians in communities of all sizes, will be available to comment on the federal budget on Wednesday, March 22.

"Municipalities deliver cost-effective local solutions to national challenges. This budget is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to generate growth and strengthen Canada-by empowering us to build more livable, competitive communities," said FCM President Clark Somerville. FCM is calling for long-term investment plans to launch major transit expansions, tackle the housing affordability crisis, support local climate action, and kick-start economic growth in smaller communities across Canada.
