Statement from FCM President on November 13 Paris Attacks (14/11/2015)
It is with both shock and sadness that we extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those who lost their lives at the shameful hands of terrorists. As we witnessed the quick action of first responders to the injured, and to the continued security threat, we were reminded of the courage of women and men who confront these circumstances in times of crisis. These tragic events serve as a strong reminder of the values we hold so high, and the extent to which others will act to defy freedom and civil liberties. We stand together with France, and its people.
FCM's Board of Directors will meet in Ottawa this week, and we will begin our proceedings with a moment of silence in a show of solidarity with France.
