A 'Soft Path' for Water

Integrated Approaches to Water Demand Management

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Session summary

Fresh water is one of a community's most valuable assets - supplies are limited and the Earth isn't making any more. The ability of a community to grow is directly connected to the availability of water. Lynn will describe how municipalities can reduce their demands on local water supplies through effective water governance and the creation of a 'Soft Path' for water.

James will present an integrated model for watershed planning and examples of municipal action, addressing the drivers, challenges and opportunities facing decision makers at the local level. This webinar will precede the release of a new guidebook for municipalities on developing a 'Soft Path' for water, created by Friends of the Earth and FCM.
