Webinar: Opportunities for Community Revitalization in Québec
Wednesday, October 14, 2009
Québec has one of the best provincial brownfield strategies and some of the most successful brownfield redevelopment projects in the country. Brownfield remediation and redevelopment can provide valuable economic, environmental and social benefits for municipalities of all sizes. However, there are still a number of challenges and questions that municipalities face when embarking on a brownfield remediation initiative: How do municipalities create successful remediation plans? How do they secure funding for their projects? How can they develop necessary partnerships with other organizations? When and how should the community be involved?
This webinar will offer information to support successful municipal brownfield initiatives, including a case study from a Québec municipality. Financing opportunities will be presented, including how to use FCM's Green Municipal Fund and Québec's ClimatSol program. Remediation technologies and legal issues will also be addressed. Brownfields experts and municipal representatives will share their tips, tricks and advice and answer your questions.
