      FCM's Expert Workshop on Water Technology and Best Practices for Water and Wastewater Management for First Nations and Small Rural Municipalities

      FCM's First Nations - Municipal Community Infrastructure Partnership Program (CIPP) is pleased to announce an Expert Workshop to be held from Tuesday, March 13, 2012 to Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

      The workshop will be held in Ottawa and will bring together academics, experts, and practitioners from First Nations and small rural municipalities to discuss, debate and bring forward concrete solutions to water and wastewater management that can be replicated in other small communities. Appropriate financing mechanisms will also be explored.

      This workshop is hosted by CIPP and funded by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC).

      The workshop is by invitation only.

      Meeting objectives:

      1) To discuss, debate and bring forward concrete solutions to water and wastewater management that can be replicated in both First Nation and small rural municipalities across Canada. Appropriate financing mechanisms will also be explored.

      2) To provide recommendations on how best to move forward on applying concrete water and wastewater solutions to First Nations and small rural municipalities.
