FEDERATION OF CANADIAN MUNICIPALITIES (FCM) UNVEILS CANADA-WIDE REPORT — A SNAPSHOT OF SHOVEL-READY MUNICIPAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

OTTAWA, January 13 – The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) will unveil a Canada-wide report detailing a snapshot of shovel-ready municipal infrastructure projects during a media teleconference call on Wednesday, January 14.

The media teleconference call will take place on Wednesday, January 14 from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. EST, with Jean Perrault, FCM President and Mayor of Sherbrooke, Que. This teleconference will be preceded by a technical briefing for media from 10:30 to 11:00, also by conference call, conducted by FCM staff.  

One-on-one interviews can be arranged following the call.

The report will be published at www.fcm.ca/en/infrastructure  at 10:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, January 14.

The release of the shovel-ready municipal infrastructure projects leads into the upcoming First Ministers´ Meeting on Friday, January 16.  In the midst of an economic slowdown, FCM is calling for investments in infrastructure projects as an effective stimulus to create jobs.
